The Japanese Garden in Spokane

 Here is the information board at the entrance to the Japanese Gardens.

Kids love to see the koi fish swimming in the pond.  

 The young and old come here to be outside.

Spokane's Art Fest

Spokane's annual Art Fest on June 3rd to 5th was in Couer d'Alene Park in Browne's Addition.

Live music went on throughout the festival.

Food was available with a variety of choices.

 Here is one restaurant's choice of showing the menu.

Different arts and crafts were for sale throughout the park. 

 Many painters and photographers showcased their work at the festival.

Kay Langland, a photographer, takes her photographs and prints them directly on different types of metal.

Sasquatch! Festival 2011

On Memorial Day Weekend, May 27th to 30th, the Gorge Ampitheatre was filled with music, people, and fun. The annual Sasquatch Music Festival brings bands from around the area to show off their music. This year was the tenth anniversary of the festival so they added another day of music.

This is the main stage where some of the bands play. There are four stages total each with bands playing simultaneously all day long.

People crowd together to get cooled down in the worlds biggest shower.

 People dance to the music and have a good time.

Spokane's Lilac Parade

This past Saturday, May 21, the annual Lilac Parade toured through the downtown streets of Spokane. Thousands of people filled the streets to give recognition to military service men and women, schools, and other organizations.

Members of the military survival school march down the streets in the parade.

Military members run to greet the parade audience with high fives and handshakes.

These are three POW survivors from past wars participating in the parade on top of a Humvee.

The sound from horns and drums echo through the streets as marching bands from various schools play their music.

Parade floats pass by with different themes throughout the entire parade.

Town & Country

Garden Expo 2011 at Spokane Community College

The Garden Expo is growing every year. The event is filled with different plants, arts, crafts, and food. People come here to get ready for the start of their spring gardening.

Plants of all kinds are scattered throughout the campus.

A local artist makes these 3D kaleidoscope images using normal images of various things.

Different musical talent is shown throughout the event.

Here is a food area where people can sit down, eat their food, and have a good conversation.
